🔬🌿 Featured Object Showcase: Botanical Microscopy 📚✨ In the mid-17th century, the human gaze crossed a new frontier: microscopic observation revealed a previously invisible cellular universe in leaves, flowers, stems, and fruits 🍃. This revolution changed taxonomy and the classification of the plant kingdom forever. Today we invite you to visit our new Featured Object Showcase (South Showcase), dedicated to the history of microscopy in botany. In it, you will be able to appreciate: 📖 A copy of Anatome plantarum (1687) by the famous Italian botanist Marcello Malpighi, a pioneer in illustrating plant cellular structures and whose book is preserved by the Botany Area Library of the MNHN. 🔬 A historic monocular microscope from 1929 (Ernst Leitz Wetzlar), belonging to the Botany Area. 🌿 Samples from the SGO Herbarium and traditional instruments such as the classic 30X pocket magnifying glass. To this day, the microscope remains an irreplaceable tool for fieldwork, laboratories, and herbaria around the world. 🗓️ Until when can you visit it? Available from today until November 29, 2026. 📍 Location: Central Hall (South Showcase), Museo Nacional de Historia … On the flyer: MNHN Museo Nacional de Historia Natural Chile
