Stgo 2026 ✨ Postmodern Architecture in Providencia Three projects allow us to recognize different ways of incorporating commerce, pedestrian paths, and user experience into architecture, reflecting the commercial and urban transformation that the commune experienced during the 1970s and 1980s. 🧱 Dos Providencias, built in 1977 and designed by Alberto Fernández, corresponds to the typology of commercial "caracoles" (snails), with approximately 160 shops organized through a central void and circulation systems that connect its different levels. 🧱 La plaza Lyon, developed from 1979 and built between 1980 and 1982 by a team led by Pedro Murtinho, combines commerce, offices, housing, and parking, incorporating elements of the traditional city such as the city block, the continuous facade, the portico, and the interior plaza. 🧱 Finally, Pirámide del Sol, designed in 1976 by Octavio Soto de Angelis, presents a pyramidal volume and references to pre-Columbian architecture, expressing a more figurative approach to postmodernism.
