WORKSHOP SESSION 03 | DATA CENTERS & ENERGY What energy demand does the expansion of artificial intelligence bring with it? How are water, cooling, and electricity related? What challenges does the growth of data centers pose for territories and the Chilean electrical system? We invite you to the third Digital Vértigo workshop, a meeting space to discuss the territorial, material, and socio-environmental implications of digital infrastructure in Chile. In this session, we will discuss what energy conditions the country needs to sustain the growth of data centers without compromising the resilience of the electrical system. We will share perspectives on planning, transmission, and territorial equity, exploring the tensions and possibilities posed by their expansion.
