We are thrilled to welcome Rafael Ruz to Art Week Chile for the first time. He is a Chilean visual artist whose work stands out for its extraordinary level of detail and a powerful pictorial approach. Here is one of the works from “BESTIARY”, a series that marks a new turn in Rafael's pictorial research. After years of exploring contemporary ruin through abandoned vehicles, the artist now directs that same tension toward an organic and symbolic universe. Old rusted engines give way to pumpkins and squashes that, far from the conventions of traditional still life, appear as living, mutant, and deeply human protagonists. A proposal that is truly worth seeing up close.
