OSNCH: Bruckner Symphony 9 and Maupoint

“The Ninth Symphony (D minor) has begun.” 🎻 That is how Bruckner told a friend in 1891 that he had started his final symphony. What he didn't say was that he had already been working on it for almost four years. For nearly a decade, the Ninth accompanied him through revisions, illness, and doubt. He dedicated it “to the beloved God” and died working on it until the end. He left three complete movements and a fourth unfinished, and that absence is part of its power: an Adagio that sounds like a farewell and ends almost in a whisper. Experience this monumental symphony with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile, under the direction of Maximiano Valdés.
