🌍 Today is World Tourism Day and we are sending you six postcards from the summit of Cerro San Cristóbal 📮 ✨ Swipe and tour the Foster, stop by stop 👉 🌕 1 · The Moon over Santiago: the blue supermoon of August 30, 2023, next to the Gran Torre. 🔭 2 · The 93 cm reflector: since 1903 it measured the speeds of the stars in the southern sky, and today it is being restored to show you the sky again. 🌑 3 · The 1893 corona: the Lick Observatory expedition photographed the total eclipse from the Atacama Desert. Ten years later, it installed its southern station here, at the summit. 🏛️ 4 · The dome and the view: National Monument, 850 m above sea level, with Santiago and the Andes in front. ☄️ 5 · Halley's Comet in 1910, photographed from this same summit with the Mills telescope.
