The Sala Museo Gabriela Mistral, located at the Casa Central of the Universidad de Chile, is a space open to the general public with free entry. The Sala Museo was inaugurated in 2015 as a tribute to the great poet, teacher, consul, and first Latin American Nobel Prize winner. This place hosts temporary exhibitions on different themes. Currently, "Mollusca: Poesía de Caracolas" is on display, an exhibition showcasing a selection of over a thousand specimens belonging to the impressive collection of approximately 8,400 pieces that Pablo Neruda donated to the Universidad de Chile, with the desire to give back to the people, through their public university, everything he had received from Chile throughout his life. Some species in the exhibition not only amazed Neruda with their complex shapes but also inspired several of his works. 📍Av.
