🎨 NATIONAL DAY OF VISUAL ARTS Celebrating Chilean artistic creation since 2005, Galería Montegrande presents "Animales", an exhibition by one of the great masters of national art, Alejandro "Mono" González (@monogonzalezchile) Born in Curicó in 1947, Mono González is a muralist, set designer, and a fundamental figure in the history of Chilean and Latin American public art. Together with the Brigada Ramona Parra (@brp.chile), he turned the wall into a space for collective expression and popular struggle, bringing art to the street, to the people. His work—loaded with color, memory, and social commitment—has left its mark on iconic murals such as those at the Metro de Santiago station Parque Bustamante, the Hospital del Trabajador, and "El Primer Gol del Pueblo Chileno", created together with Roberto Matta in 1971. His style gave rise to a true school, democratizing art and consolidating it as cultural heritage, in constant dialogue with the identity and history of Chile. With over five decades of career, in 2025 he received the National Prize for Plastic Arts, the highest recognition the country gives to its artists.
