Why are a button and a knob different worlds for a microcontroller? 🎛️ A button is digital: the pin only sees two states. Released it reads 1, pressed it goes to ground and reads 0. A knob is analog: it is a voltage divider, and when you turn it, the pin receives any value between 0 and 3.3 V. The ESP32 converter translates it into a number from 0 to 4095. You can see it in the Percu-Synth and the Proto-Synth: with an analog knob you can vary a sound, send a MIDI control, or whatever you want. If you want to learn this by building your own instrument, participate in the GC Lab Chile workshops 👉 gclabchile.com #ESP32 #electronics #arduino #synthesizer #DIY maker learningbydoing GCLabChile On the flyer: GC LAB CHILE 09 - KNOBS REAL VIDEO — KNOB - ANALOG PROTO-SYNTH V2 Sound, MIDI control or whatever you want SP10 13 · 14 · 12 · 27
