📍LOS GASOMETROS It's hard to imagine looking at these empty structures, but thousands of cubic meters of gas that reached Santiago homes were stored here. The first gasometer could hold 23 million liters. The factory opened in 1910 and continued operating until 2015. More than a century supplying a city that grew around it. When it was built, this area of Estación Central was still the periphery. The location next to the railroad had a reason: that's where the coal the factory needed arrived, even from England and Australia. Designs and technologies from Belgium, Germany, and the United States also arrived. What we see today as an impressive stage was a key piece in the daily life of Santiago: gas for cooking, heating water, and heating homes passed through facilities like these. On November 14, we get to experience the place in a different way. Among these same structures, day and night, with Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, Umho b2b Mañungo, and Javiera.
