Heading to FIDOCS 30: Documentary film classics return to the big screen at Cine UC 🎬✨The Santiago International Documentary Festival (FIDOCS) continues with the activities leading up to its 30th anniversary through the "Road to FIDOCS 30" initiative, an instance that seeks to review programmatic milestones and iconic films that are part of the festival's identity. During the month of October, the Sala de Cine UC will screen two fundamental works of world cinema. And FOR FREE. 📌 "Far from Vietnam" (Le fond de l'air est rouge, 1977) by Chris Marker: A monumental film-essay about the revolutionary movements of the 60s and 70s, the struggles of the global left, and the political evolution of the era. The piece stands out for addressing passages of Chilean history in its final chapter, reflecting the historical closeness and the bond of the French filmmaker with Chilean cinema. 📌 "Lessons of Darkness" (Lektionen in Finsternis, 1992) by Werner Herzog: Presented at the beginning of FIDOCS, the work offers an apocalyptic look at the environmental disaster in Kuwait after the Gulf War.
