This Friday, October 9, at 18:00, join the opening of the exhibition “Nosotros los chilenos: archivar para imaginarnos” 🖼️ The Graphic Creation and Research Program of the Escuela de Arte UDP (@arte.udp) held its third edition in collaboration with the Archivo MSSA. On this occasion, five artists worked around the collection Nosotros los chilenos from the publishing house Quimantú, a series of publications edited between 1971 and 1973, which addressed different aspects of the country's social and cultural life. 🤖Using prompts or instructions for AI, artist Andrés Duran (@andres_duran_d) fictionalizes issues of Nosotros los Chilenos that never existed. Meanwhile, Constanza Hermosilla (@cohermosilla) investigates the relationships between labor force, trade, and extractivism, based on the issues about chinchorreros and coal miners. ⛏️ 🧌Inspired by the issue on Chilean legends, N3T0 creates a map that brings together speculative spaces and phrases that condense popular myths, putting into tension internet imaginaries, ancient cultures, and scientific discourses.
