“¿Cuánto (nos) recuerda una piedra?” (How much does a stone remind us?) features the stones of the Mapocho river as its protagonists. Apparently motionless and silent, the stone holds the memory of the world and becomes a witness body, cosmic and mineral. Continuing an investigation into the Mapocho begun in 2018, the exhibition translates the “whispers” of the stones through painting with natural pigments and gold leaf, backlit photography, and a sound installation. Its twenty-one works include the series Transfiguración del río, Iluminadas, and Piedra angular, which bridge the origin of time and matter, inviting us to pause and recognize ourselves as part of the same vital network.
