We have a new cycle! Daste shomā dard nakone. May your hand not ache. In Persian, a phrase to express gratitude. But not in a modest way, rather a deep and conscious one. I thank you for the effort you have made thinking of me and I truly hope that it has not meant a sacrifice or torment for you. During these weeks of October, we invite you to check out three essential gems of Iranian cinema. Films that break themselves, films that know they are films and do not try to be anything else. Works that play with their materiality and their intention, but that, within that complexity, invite us to look at the past, to stay in the present, and to dream of the future. From a territory so distant, yet much more similar to how we are than it seems, come three masterful works, mixing genres, joining reality with fiction, blurring the lines of both worlds, and enchanting us with it.
