Sebastián Pérez Troncoso, an accordionist from Barrio Las Rosas known on social media as @acordeonchilenero, and his partner Kate Escobar, an accordion luthier, launched Universo Acordeón this year: a project to teach the instrument and create a new generation of musicians in the commune. With classes at their home-workshop in Isabel Riquelme Sur, they aim for "Maipú to have its own accordionists, trained in the same commune," closing a circle where folk music and cuecas a la rueda can be heard in our streets again. Pérez, who taught himself the accordion at age 20 by watching tutorials, sees his craft as a service: playing so people can enjoy themselves. 🎵🪗 Learn more about this local musician and the @universoacordeonchile project at the link in the bio. #Maipú #LaVozDeMaipú #MúsicaMaipucina #Acordeón #CulturaLocal #FolkloreChileno #ArtesComunidad On the flyer: MÚSICA MAIPUCINA lavozdemaipu.cl HOHNER "May Maipú have its own accordionists": the story of Sebastián Mufasa and his project Universo Acordeón
