In “Amanecer en ambos horizontes”, an exhibition by Javier Toro Blum (@toroblum) presented at Galería MADRE (@galeria_madre), the artist starts from an impossible image: a sunrise that happens at the same time on two horizons. Although we know that cannot happen, for an instant the mind tries to imagine it. It is precisely in that space of uncertainty, between the recognizable and the indeterminate, where the exhibition is situated. The exhibition brings together watercolors and light paintings that work with forms always on the verge of becoming something else. In the watercolors, the stains suggest landscapes, figures, or images that never finish defining themselves; in the light works, light appears in the midst of darkness, fades, and re-emerges, without the two ever fully separating. Toro Blum thus explores the capacity of the gaze to find images where they do not yet fully exist, prolonging that instant prior to recognition, when it is still possible to imagine multiple forms. 📍 Galería MADRE (Juan de Valiente 3681, Vitacura) 📅 Until October 13 📹: @sebadelpe On the flyer: and if a halo is made
