On September 30, 2016, Kodama was released, Alcest's fifth album and one of the essential blackgaze records of the last decade. After Shelter, Neige returned to balancing beauty and darkness with seven songs that range from abrasive guitars to raspy vocals and ethereal melodies. “Kodama”, “Eclosion”, “Je suis d'ailleurs” and “Oiseaux de proie” represent different sides of an album inspired by nature, nostalgia, and that feeling of belonging to a place we may have never known. Kodama has aged well, as it still sounds as melancholic as it is luminous: distortion and beauty in the same soundscape. Alcest will certainly return to Chile on February 15, 2027, at Teatro Cariola, to present songs from Les Chants de l'Aurore and journey through part of their history. Tickets via Passline.
