🗃️✨ Inauguration The Visual Arts Documentation Center (CEDOC) presents “Alameda 1381. Fondo GGM,” a new temporary exhibition that will be hosted in our consultation room, gathering a fundamental part of the history and creation of the Galería Gabriela Mistral (GGM). Do you know how the first state contemporary art gallery was created? In this exhibition, we unfold the history of this public and national space, whose mission from the beginning was to value, disseminate, and give visibility to contemporary visual arts. Throughout its 36 years, it has consolidated itself as one of the most relevant spaces in national art, for both emerging and established artists, having also managed an important state collection of artworks, counting in 2015 with a catalog of more than 100 pieces, today safeguarded in the CNAC depot. At the Visual Arts Documentation Center, we safeguard a documentary fund produced during the course of the gallery's exhibitions, gathering documentation of more than 133 exhibitions, from 1991 to 2014.
